From the President
I am honoured and pleased to be afforded the opportunity to serve as President of RUSI Vancouver Island. It is not without some trepidation that I undertake this task. The laudable achievements of past Presidents are sufficient cause to make one realize that the tasks ahead may well be formidable. Suffice it to say that I will give you my best and hope that fills the bill. From my perspective I don’t see RUSI Vancouver Island as a group of old folks passing their time having nice lunches and ruminating on stories of their glory days. We are, in my view, a group of senior professionals who collectively have a deep and broad understanding of the profession of arms. We can provide reasoned opinions on a variety of subjects associated with the profession of arms and we can provide the general public with a better understanding of our profession. We have a responsibility to serving members of the Canadian Forces to pursue these matters with whatever vigor we can muster. I leave you with these thoughts and I hope each of you will join me in these endeavors.
