On very short notice, Dr Tim Ball, well known Victoria climatologist, agreed to fill in for Inspector Bill Carver, RCMP.
Dr. Ball is a popular authority on
climate change with some overwhelming
counterpoints to the global warming..crowd. His wry
humour and authoritative charts and
graphs reviewing earth.s environmental
history quickly made converts
of most in the audience. For
example, he reminded us that while
Canada was buried under glacier ice
5,000 years ago, the Egyptians were
busy building their pyramids. (It
makes one think.)
He earned a PhD in science from London University. With his extensive knowledge in climatology, he chairs provincial boards on water management, environmental issues and sustainable development.
