Biographical Sketch:

A 1974 graduate from Royal Military College, Col Crober served 23 years in the Canadian Forces Regular before transferring to the Reserves in 1997. He served in reconnaissance and was a tank squadron commander in Germany. He served on staff at brigade, divisional and army headquarters. He headed intelligence for the army in Europe during the Eastern European “revolution.” He was in Cyprus and with the UN protection Force in Bosnia as an operations officer in 1993/94 evacuating 4,000 casualties to the Adriatic; 300 children for medical care and helped setup of a multi-million dollar mobile hospital in Mostar. Leaving the Regular Force as a LCol, he joined the BC Provincial Emergency Program with the implementation team for BC Emergency Response management System. Promoted to Col in the Reserves in 2002, he was Comd 39 CBG – “the Army in BC” until Sept 2002. Thence he became Regional Director of the (Federal) BC/Yukon Office for Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

Biographical Sketch:

Captain Hesford entered the Canadian Forces in 1987 as an Army logistics officer, transportation specialty following graduation from UVic and UBC with a BA (economics) and MBA, respectively. He specialized in movement control in 1995 and served two tours in Croatia and Bosnia. Opting for civilian life, he joined 11 (Victoria) Service Battalion Militia. He returned to the Regular Force in 2002 and was tasked to the International Military Advisory and Training Team (IMATT) in Sierra Leone where as acting major, he commanded a transport squadron in the Sierra Leone Armed Forces. He is currently adjutant of 11 Service Battalion.
