Increase in Luncheon Prices
Over the past year or so the costs for the meals at our luncheons has increased considerably - to the extent that now our price ($15.00)
at the door barely covers the costs of the meal to us and we are advised that this cost will escalate somewhat this coming year. To
assure we don’t dip into our capital, the RUSI VI Executive moved to increase the cost of lunch to members to $18.00,
to be effective at our October lunch.

Once again we are approaching the start of a new season for RUSI VI. We are on a solid financial footing at least for the foreseeable
future. The Oral History program at UVIC is moving along nicely and we even have had two members of the UVIC history faculty join
us as Associate Members. The newsletter continues to present solid papers and articles and has a solid reputation. Our luncheons continue
to showcase good food, good company and fine speakers. All of these achievements are a product of the work of the board and members
and I would like to extend my appreciation to them for their work on behalf of the membership. Finally, suggestions for improvements,
speakers or program for RUSI VI are welcome.
