Cadet Award Presentations

The outstanding sea, air and army cadets during the past training year in this area, were recognized recently with cash awards from the Royal United Services Institute of Vancouver Island.

Sea Cadet Petty Officer 1st Class Tori Bedingfield from Beacon Hill Sea Cadets in Colwood was selected best sea cadet. She received her award from Commodore (Ret) Ted Heath, President of RUSI of VI.

The army cadet award went to Cadet Sgt Piper Gordon from the 3005 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps. The award was presented during a parade at Vanalman Armoury by Major-General (Ret) P.J. Mitchell, a director of RUSI of VI.

Cadet Sgt Graham Noyes of 676 Kittyhawk Air Cadet Squadron was outstanding air cadet this year. At the annual parade in the 443 Maritime Squadron hangar, Kittyhawk Road, Sidney, Colonel W.C. Weston, a director of RUSI of VI, presented the award.
