Biographical Sketch:

Captain “Dusty” Miller is, at present, Head of Security at Royal Roads University. Originally from England, he came to Canada in 1991. Dusty spent 15 years in the Royal Marines Commando seeing active service in Cyprus, the South Atlantic (Falklands War) and Northern Ireland. In the latter conflict, Dusty spent 10 months undercover (1979-80) working closely with 14 Intelligence Regiment and the E4 Alpha Unit of the Royal Ulster Constabulary. Dusty participated in covert operations against the IRA on the border with the Irish Republic - or “Bandit Country” - including Crossmaglen, Bessbrook, Newry, Warrenpoint, Rostrevor, Kilkeel and the Mourne Mountains. Since leaving the military, Dusty has been involved in the corporate security world and has personally been responsible for the protection of royalty, the Vice Regal and several Premier’s of British Columbia, various foreign dignitaries as well as many prominent actors and musicians who have visited British Columbia.

Biographical Sketch:

LCol Bishop joined the Canadian Army Special Force serving in Korea 1950-51 and the Regular Army from 1951-86. A 2 PPCLI "original," he was a corporal leading a rifle section at the Battle of Kapyong in 1951. He was later commissioned a 2Lt in the Canadian Guards and eventually rebadged to PPCLI. He was with NATO in Germany, a peacekeeper in Vietnam, and a military attaché in the Middle East and Korea. He served in Ghana and was Liaison Officer to UNMAC (Panmunjom, Korea). He attended the Canadian Army Staff College and served at NDHQ in the Directorate of Intelligence and Security. He is the author of "The King’s Bishop" which is a rare personal account of that early period of the Canadian Army in the Korean War.
