From the President...
MGen (Ret) Robert Stewart, CMM CD

portrait of MGen (Ret) Robert Stewart, CMM CD2003 got off to a first rate start with an excellent turn out for our first Lunch meeting and a very detailed briefing on 3 PPCLI’s preparation and conduct of operations in Afghanistan.

The Institute’s Annual General Meeting is scheduled for the 12th of March. I know it is not one of our highlights! However one of my concerns is the future composition of the Institute’s Board. As you are aware a number of years ago we were forced, for financial reasons, to eliminate the position of a paid Institute manager and therefore Board Directors have been required to take on all responsibilities for the operation of the Institute. It is a working Board. Several of the Board members have served for a number of years and are in need of relief. We are looking for some new ‘blood’, therefore, I would ask all members to consider volunteering for a position on the Board. If you are interested and able please let Al McLean, the past president and chairman of the nominating committee, know at our next meeting in February, or email your nomination or voluntary readiness to usiviccda@yahoo.ca. We need names before February 12.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 12th of February.
