Enclosed with this newsletter one will find information regarding fund
raising for the new Canadian War Museum. The campaign Chairman, General Paul
Manson, through RUSI-VI is asking each retired military officer to consider
making a personal contribution to the Museum. Funding for this $105.75M
project is almost complete. The Federal Government has provided the site and
all but $15M. Private donors have given $12.9M to date.
Paul Manson writes “I would like to think that, when the new museum
opens on 8 May, 2005, retired military officers will be recognized before the
public as a group which cares enough about our heritage to have contributed
universally and handsomely to Passing the Torch. That name itself surely
calls upon us to do no less.”
